| The Great Allegheny Passage, the first trail to be inducted into the ‘The Rail-Trail Hall of Fame’, is the longest multi-purpose rail-trail in the eastern U.S. with 132 continuous, nearly level, miles from near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cumberland, Maryland. The trail connects to the C&O Canal Towpath in Cumberland, Maryland, providing a motor-free route for hiking and cycling from Pittsburgh to the District of Columbia. |
